It started with a simple frustration
If you've ever bought a word search book for a parent, grandparent, or anyone who needs genuinely large print — you know the problem. The cover says "large print." You open it up. The letters are still tiny. The word list is jammed into a corner. There are 30 puzzles and you're done in a week.
That frustration is what started Sandra Sims puzzle books. We couldn't find what we were looking for, so we built it ourselves.
The goal was simple: make puzzle books the way we wished they already existed. Big enough to actually read. Themed well enough to actually enjoy. With enough puzzles to actually last.
What makes these books different
Every Sandra Sims book is built around a theme people genuinely care about — classic country music, golden age television, the decades they grew up in, the Bible, gardening. Not just a random pile of words.
Each puzzle has a specific title and a specific topic. If the puzzle is called "Soda Fountain Days," every single word in that puzzle belongs at a soda fountain. No filler words. No disconnected lists. Every word was chosen on purpose.

✓
102 puzzles per book — most competitors offer 40–50. We offer more than double.

✓
Genuinely large print — we enforce a strict character limit on every word so grids stay large and consistent throughout the book.
-
✓
Every word verified — each word list goes through multiple quality checks before it goes to print. We catch errors before you do.

✓
One puzzle per page — no crowding, no squinting, just one clean puzzle with room to work.

✓
Complete answer key — every solution is in the back of the book, clearly labeled.
A small publisher with big standards
Sandra Sims books are published by R&G Puzzles, a small independent publisher based in the Midwest. We're not a factory churning out content. Every book goes through a thorough quality process — spelling checks, content accuracy checks, era verification, and what we call the Dorothy test.
The Dorothy Test
Before any book is approved for print, we read every single puzzle as the person who's going to sit down with a cup of coffee and actually solve it. Would she recognize these words? Would she feel like this book was made by someone who knows and loves this topic? Would she recommend it to a friend? If the answer to any of those is no — we fix it before it ships.
We care about getting it right because the people buying these books deserve better than what most of the market offers. A lot of our readers are buying these for a parent or grandparent who has limited options for entertainment — someone in a nursing home, someone with vision challenges, someone who just loves puzzles and wants more of them.
That matters to us. It shapes how we build every book.
New books, regularly
We release new titles regularly across themes like nostalgia, faith, nature, holidays, and more. The best way to stay current is to follow the Amazon author page or sign up for our free puzzle collection below — we'll let you know when something new drops.
